School One is a progressive school where students from different backgrounds come together in a supportive community. Since 1973, School One students have pursued meaningful questions through interdisciplinary coursework and sophisticated arts instruction. School One builds on each student’s strengths and interests. Our graduates go on to top-ranked colleges, art schools, and most importantly, go on to lead lives of caring and compassion. A rare blend of rigorous, non-competitive, and supportive, School One’s small classes are similar to college seminars–filled with student voices, debate, and meaningful questions about the world. Our curriculum offers topics like Forensics, Psychology, Math: Special Projects, Shakespeare’s History, Greek Literature, American Literature: Banned Books, Music Performance, Animation, and Intergenerational Creative Writing. There is no one type of School One student. Instead, our diversity is part of what makes a School One education so interesting.
