8/10 Animals and Art

Why: Load up the car with the kiddos and head to the farm for a family fun summer day. After a tour around the farmyard, join an experienced art teacher to learn techniques on how to paint your favorite animals on either a friendship rock or artist’s board. Light refreshments will
also be served seaside, as the property is overlooking beautiful Narragansett Bay.

Through 8/18 Shakespeare in the Park

Why: Bring a lawn chair or a blanket, pack some snacks and head to Westerly to see Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” in the park. This childlike fantasy, performed by Colonial Theatre, can be seen through the eyes of the often-forgotten Changeling Child who is at the center of the fight between the celestial parents, Oberon and Titania. Accessible to audiences all over, this comedic play has unrequited love, rivalry, magic and more.

8/16 Lobster Boil and BBQ

Why: Keep the summer season alive with a traditional New England lobster boil on the beach. Listen to the sound of the rolling waves kiss the shoreline and take in the stunning, uninterrupted views of the Atlantic Ocean. There’s nothing more quintessentially summer than enjoying the freshest seafood from local waters, classic BBQ fare and live music by the sea with friends and family.
