Set Yourself Up with a Bookish Blind Date
The Book Emporium in East Providence is happy to play matchmaker.
“Never judge a book by its cover,” the saying goes, and pop-up business The Book Emporium agrees. Inspired by a blind date with a book display at local libraries, the business sells wrapped books with a packet of tea, a bookmark and synopsis cards on the front, making customers’ book purchases almost a total surprise. As the business has grown, so has the number of items sold. Along with books, The Book Emporium sells coasters, bookmarks, tote bags and apparel, helping achieve its goal to be a one-stop bookish pop up.
