Want to enjoy some of the freshest fish and lobster around? Head straight to the docks with some cash and pick one straight from a local boat.

NARRAGANSETT In Galilee, head to the docks around State Street. Some boats will have signs advertising their wares; otherwise, just ask the crew members on board if they have anything for sale. During the high season (aka now), boats come in daily, usually between 2–5 p.m.
NEWPORT Pick up a straight-from-the-sea lobster from the Newport Lobster Shack, owned by the Newport Fishermen’s Co-Op. If you don’t want to DIY your dinner, you can also buy a steamed lobster, savory bisque, fried calamari or a generously stuffed lobster roll — or whatever else is fresh that day — from the dockside trailer. 150 Long Wharf, Newport, 847-1700, @newportlobstershack
