Attend WINEterfest at Newport Vineyards

It's a weekend full of wine and good times.

The twenty-third annual WINEterfest at Newport Vineyards is quickly approaching. From February 15 to 17, there will be dancing, tasting and stomping!

The weekend-long event kicks off on Friday night with the Speakeasy Soiree, a Prohibition-era party that’s sure to be a night to remember. There will, of course, be wine, as well as Prohibition-style cocktails and light fare to snack on, though seating will be limited due to the dance floor. Make sure to practice the Charleston, because with music provided by Miss Katie Kleya and her speakeasy jazz band, this event is all about the dancing. You’ll need a flapper dress or suit (speakeasy attire is encouraged) and your dancing shoes!

The stomping comes in on Saturday and Sunday’s WINEterfest, when you can compete in the winery’s grape-stomping competition. Those selected will have the opportunity to get a firsthand (or first-foot) experience stomping grapes with their bare feet. I’ve seen enough “I Love Lucy” episodes to know how that would end for me, but if you’re brave and willing, make sure to dress accordingly!

The festival is all about the wine, complete with an Ice Wine Bar, as well as the beer, with the new brewery onsite, Taproot Brewing. Taste and enjoy the live music by the Little Compton Band, as well as treats prepared by the vineyard’s culinary experts, all locally made.

By the time Sunday comes to a close, you’ll be convinced that it was a weekend well-spent.

Saturday online tickets are sold out. Tickets will be available at the door the day-of. Tickets for Sunday are still available!
