One of my favorite field trips as a kid was going to the Scooper Bowl in Boston for an ice cream tasting extravaganza. I remember going from table to table sampling what felt like every ice cream flavor melting under the sun. Wright’s Creamery will host a similar-style ice cream tasting event right here in Rhode Island at its Providence location inside the Farm Fresh Rhode Island building at 10 Sims Avenue.
Scoop Fest 2026 will be a celebration of music and ice cream on Sat., May 30, from 2-6 p.m. Ice cream lovers will get to sample exclusive Test Batch Club flavors, including Old Time Rock (a collaboration with Anchor Toffee), Smokey Mountain S’mores, Mint-allica, Brown Eyed Girl, Piña Colada and Drop It Like It’s Hot Fudge (a collaboration with Rhed’s Hot Sauce). Taste up to twelve limited-edition ice cream flavors inspired by iconic songs and artists. Tasting tickets are $15 per person and include samples of all featured flavors. Tickets are available for purchase here and at the door.
Scoop Fest 2026 is all about the community, featuring high-energy appearances by the Providence Drum Troupe marching band from 2-2:30 p.m. and 4-4:30 p.m., as well as a performance by Johnny Blackout from 2:30-3:45, and Jesse Desorcy from 4:30-5:45 p.m. The master of ceremonies will be Ashley Erling, executive producer and on-air personality of “The Rhode Show.”
Members of the Wright’s Test Batch Club will earn a free ticket to Scoop Fest 2026. If you don’t know about the Test Batch Club, you can always sign up as a member for next year. Members get to taste new flavors of ice cream for twelve weeks from January to March. This is how Wright’s rolls out experimental flavors that could potentially make it to store shelves. Test Batch Club members pick up the flavors at the dairy each week, since they can’t be shipped, and they get a survey to rate and vote on favorite flavors to help determine what flavor might hit store freezers next.
