Inside Newport’s Newest Women’s Boutique
Isle is all about effortless style.
After studying math and chemistry in college, ISLE shop owner Stephanie Dias landed in retail and quickly realized she had found her passion. Dias, originally from Westport, Massachusetts, spent a decade working with a group of small family-run shops, which enabled her to wear many hats. “That fueled me to pursue what I truly love — opening ISLE was the natural next step,” says Dias.

Launched in August 2023, ISLE sits on an idyllic corner on Newport’s tony Bellevue Avenue, lined with other upscale locally owned shops. “Some of my fondest memories of Bellevue Avenue are strolling with my grandmother, so it always felt special,” says Dias. “The avenue has this elevated, easy-going and intentional energy that I love. When I learned that the space was open, it felt like pure kismet.”
Inside the light-filled boutique, you can find the latest denim in different washes and styles. There are cozy wool and cashmere sweaters in on-trend colors and sophisticated midi and maxi dresses that work for cocktail parties, date nights and holiday soirees. Dias makes it a point to carry smaller, emerging brands and designers such as Mille, 525 America and Banjanan. “I source what I love — elevated and versatile pieces (organic and machine washable) — the kind that make getting dressed effortless and joy-filled,” says Dias. In addition, you can find jewelry from local designer Kerry McGauley, faux leather and suede bags, resin bangles in a variety of colors, and floral Newport sweatshirts and sunglasses.
The store is more spacious than it looks with three separate areas, one room dedicated to two dressing rooms and a small seating space. Dias thoughtfully chose all decor elements, including white wooden floors, grass cloth wallpaper, woven sconces, jute rugs, a coral-inspired mirror and neatly arranged clothing racks. Candles in a variety of colors from Le Feu de L’Eau sit on white shelving as well as rattan and gold-painted
picture frames, woven hats and colorful needlepoint pillows equipped with a variety of fun quotes. “I wanted the space to feel uncluttered, personal and mood-boosting — like a breath of fresh air,” says Dias.
For the fall/winter season, Dias will introduce an array of cozy knits and outerwear ideal for life on the East Coast.
Reflecting on her experience of owning a shop in Newport, she says, “It’s been a dream — meeting people who connect the space with what I’m building, then seeing them share it with friends and family has been incredibly meaningful. Those little moments of connection and encouragement inspire me every day.” 114 Bellevue Ave., Newport, 619-2315, islenewport.com
