Hundreds will soon gather for the inaugural, dress-to-impress “The Affair for Air Gala,” an event hosted by the American Lung Association and presented by CVS Health at the Graduate Hotel in Providence. This one-of-a-kind event is dedicated to raising funds to support life-saving research, local programs and advocacy for the almost 200,000 people living with lung disease in Rhode Island.
Guests are encouraged to dress to the nines and wear blue to the black-tie optional affair. The color is well-known in the medical community as representing the Lung Force movement, an initiative of the American Lung Association working to end lung cancer.
“The atmosphere will be electric, and attendees will have an unforgettable night at this unique event to promote lung health… because if you can’t breathe, nothing else matters,” says Daniel Bowler, executive director of the American Lung Association in Rhode Island.
Taking place on Nov. 14 at 5:30 p.m., this glamorous evening will provide the perfect opportunity for guests to surround themselves with inspiration from the local Rhode Island community, all while championing support for those who need it most.
Guests will enjoy a plated dinner of tasty local cuisine and an open bar with wine service, and will also have the chance to bid in a silent auction on exclusive excursions and prizes ranging from an exciting trip to Tuscany, Italy, to trips to New York and Boston, a tropical vacation, Red Sox and Patriots tickets, and more.
Later in the evening there will be a heartfelt Mission Moment from Allison Lipka, the evening’s Mission Speaker. Lipka recently lost her mother and will share her story with attendees as an impactful reminder and highlight of the work that has been done thus far to improve lung health, as well as the continued importance of research and advocacy for lung care.
CVS will also be presented with the Landmark for Lung Health Award after being tobacco free for more than ten years.
Tickets to this memorable event are $250 each. Guests can visit TheAffairForAir.org for more information or to purchase tickets for the gala.
