A 1920s shingled building in Tiverton’s historic Four Corners boasts a series of eye-catching rooms that hold tables and shelves showcasing cool objects and housewares. The walls are dotted with coastal paintings and photographs, and racks of vintage clothing curated by more than ten local dealers are spread out within the showroom.

Cabana Co. co-owners, Bunny Gold and Emma Kunz, met while vending across from one another at the Providence Flea. Both are natives of Rhode Island and grew up surrounded by artwork and antiques. Gold spent time at flea markets in the ’90s at her mother’s weekend stand, and began thrifting on her own while still in middle school. “I loved finding one-of-a-kind relics of the past that no one else around me had or could easily find,” says Gold. Kunz grew up in an artistic household filled with found objects and antiques. “My siblings and I would always play ‘store’ growing up and it’s always been a dream of mine to open up a shop,” says Kunz.

Gold and Kunz instantly bonded at these markets over their love for surfing, slow living by the water, and the hunt for cool vintage goods and antiques. “Our visions really aligned,” they say. “When the opportunity to collaborate on a space in Tiverton popped up, we totally jumped on it.”

Open since November 2024, Cabana Co. sets itself apart from other vintage stores by leaning into a ’60s surfer aesthetic: rattan furniture mixes with coastal antiques, a sisal rug anchors a yellow mid-century modern couch and rustic wood tables and shelves feature a mix of housewares, clothing and accessories. “In Tiverton, there’s a beautiful combination of land and sea, and it’s fun to play into that contrast when sourcing goods for the shop,” say Gold and Kunz.

Clothing lovers can find racks brimming with colorful vintage T-shirts, lacy cotton dresses, button downs, denim and a variety of sweaters and jackets. “We want the space to feel like perpetual summer,” they say. “A welcoming reprieve where you can shop, but also kick back and find community.” The shop also carries artisan-made goods such as art, photography and jewelry from local designers.

In time for the busy summer season, they have added warm weather essentials, including a selection of skin and sun care, beach necessities and surf goods. In addition, they will be hosting fun summer pop-ups, so hang ten and stay tuned. cabana-co.com
