Black Duck Tavern

Start with the BMS wings, covered in the tavern’s famous Buffalo, maple and Sriracha sauce and tossed with scallions, or the mozzarella ducks (believe it or not, they are actually in the shape of ducks) served with either marinara or Melba sauce. Your next course of action? The mouthwatering mushroom, bacon and Swiss smash burger, aka two Angus beef patties with thick-cut maple-glazed bacon, sauteed mushrooms, baby Swiss cheese and arugula on a toasted brioche bun. If Sunday brunch is more your speed, munch on the seafood Benedict, the breakfast taco or the cannoli pancakes. Did we mention the bottomless mimosas and hefty bloody marys?
What to eat: We also recommend the hot honey chicken sandwich with juicy boneless thigh meat tossed in a sweet and spicy sauce. The steak or fish tacos are just enough for a quick bite before a show at the Comedy Connection, the sister business next door.
Who to Bring: Your best friend or significant other to kick back and relax.
What to wear: Keep it casual; a T-shirt and jeans are just fine.
The drink situation: You won’t go thirsty here! Sip craft beer from local breweries or crafty cocktails like the Warren G or tropical sangria.
Insider’s tip: Stick around for the weekly specials, including food and drink discounts for Wednesday trivia night and the $15 burger and beer combo on Thursdays.
The details: Open Wednesday–Saturday for dinner, Sunday for brunch.
