David Hartt’s evocative scenes of cityscapes and interiors address the effect of the built environment on contemporary culture and society. Discussion with the artist follows. (“The Republic”: 2004, 16:08 min. “Stray Light”: 2011, 12 min.)
This new exhibition program, RISD Museum Projections, features film and video screenings by contemporary artists working between the gallery space and the cinema. Each screening includes artist or guest lecturer insights on the works presented, including David Hartt, Derek Jarman and Šejla Kameri.
Free with RISD Museum admission. Limited seating; registration required. Co-sponsored by the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) Film, Animation, and Video Department.
