Wine & Dine Sakonnet Style

There aren’t many local events that I’d blog about a month in advance, but this party toasting Sakonnet Vineyard’s 35th anniversary is sure to sell out (and I don’t want you to say I didn’t warn you!). “Elegance in the Afternoon” brings together a bunch of well-known chefs — Anne Quatrano chef/owner Bacchanalia, Floataway Cafe and Abbatoir in Atlanta; Jasper White, chef/owner of Summer Shack; Johanne Killeen and George Germon from Al Forno; Casey Riley from Newport Harbor Corporation; and Emily Luchetti, pastry chef at Farallon and Waterbar in San Francisco — who will each prepare a special dish, paired, of course, with Sakonnet wine in honor of the occasion. The event takes place on Sunday, June 27 (which I’m sure will be a beautiful day) and runs 1 to 4 p.m. Tickets are $95 a head (call 800-998-8486, ext 116 to reserve). See you there!
