On the Run: Health and wellness goings-on

Dec. 15: Following their Barre and Beats class where you’ll be sweatin’ up a storm, kick back and relax at Barre and Bubbles where you can sip a glass of bubbly (or two) as you learn about old and new world wines and what to pair with them.

Dec. 16: See the shortest day of the year in a new light at the Fourth Annual Shortest Day of the Year Ride. Instead of complaining, get your lights charged and bike a ten or twenty-five mile lap in Newport. Plus, there will be chili, hot cider and hot cocoa, making it a pretty sweet way to spend the shortest day.

Dec. 20: Ring in the winter solstice at Providence Power Yoga, where you will relax and restore yourself in preparation for midwinter. The Winter Solstice Sound Bath will guide you through an hour of sound vibrations, ensuring that you step back and clear your mind before the solstice comes upon us.

Dec. 23: Want to run like a tiger? Well, at Tiger Jingle Jungle Run, you’ll travel the same course that the Tiverton High School Tigers do in cross country meets and practice. Burn off your holiday stuffing at this five-k and don’t forget to get creative with your “jingle jungle” garb. There will also be a half mile Fox Trot for children wanting to participate.
