Viola Davis and Richard Jenkins Nominated for Emmys
The actors both have strong Rhode Island ties.

Rhode Island has two more reasons to be proud of its acting talent.
Richard Jenkins and Viola Davis were both nominated for Emmys. Jenkins, who directs plays at Trinity Rep and lives in Cumberland, received the nod for lead actor in a limited series or movie for “Oliver Kittredge.” You can read more about Jenkins in our Q&A here.
Davis, who studied acting at Rhode Island College, was nominated for lead actress in a drama for her role in “How to Get Away With Murder.” Davis, who grew up in Central Falls, returned to Rhode Island to speak at the Women’s Summit at Bryant University in 2014.
