Vintage Shopping 101
Whether fashion is a true passion of yours and you just can’t get enough (as it is for me), or the thought of shopping for clothes truly terrifies you, the “In Style” continuing education classes at RISD satisfy all. The school that churned out such design talent as Nicole Miller and puts on a Bryant Park-worthy runway show of senior collections each year, regularly offers more basic classes with local industry experts who know their way around a walk-in closet. Recent classes have included a shopping tour on Newbury Street in Boston and a tutorial on packing for vacation. Next Wednesday, June 24, Boston stylist Susan Mullins leads “The Art of Shopping for Vintage Clothing.” It’s $55 and promises to teach attendees how to spot quality pieces, clothing characteristics of different historic eras, and how to bargain.
