Tommy Tewsday - The Fourth Annual Newport Pirate Invasion @ Newport, RI

Ahoy buckos! Grab the rum and report to the poopdeck! The fourth annual Tommy Tewsday (aka the Newport Pirate Invasion) is coming back to Newport, on Saturday, September 8 and it’s going to be bigger and better than ever.

This year we’ll have more delicious Thomas Tew Rum, more boats, more time on the bay, more pirates, more shot-skis and more booty. Plus, many of the same great landlubber stops, same great sponsor – Thomas Tew Rum, same donation to an amazing locally-based charity (Confetti Foundation), and more of the same great times with your fellow scallywags.

The event begins at the Fastnet Pub and from there, we will head to the boats where we’ll have an hour and a half cruise around Newport with free Thomas Tew Rum and Allie’s donut cakes. After that we’ll move on to some more of Newport’s great local spots with food/drink discounts around town. This ticket also includes entrance to an awesome after party at One Pelham so get your ticket today!

Dress code is pirate casual so those corsairs without their pirate apparel will walk the plank!

Sweet Feet for Strikes! @ Kings Dining and Entertainment

 Sweet Feet for Strikes is the largest professional athlete attended event in the New England area.
 The annual celebrity bowling tournament held at Kings Dining & Entertainment in Dedham, MA was conceived and created for former New England Patriots Super Bowl Champion linebacker and co-captain, Jerod Mayo in 2010. James White is continuing the Mayo Bowl tradition after having co-hosted with Mayo last year and marking a new era for the event, which has been newly renamed Sweet Feet for Strikes.
 The tournament has grown tremendously over the past eight (8) years. Each year the event sells out twenty (20) bowling lanes, attracts well over 400 event attendees and reaches over 7 million individuals through social media.
 Historically, the event has averaged thirty-five (35) New England Patriots players in attendance each year. Notable athletes that have been in attendance include: James White, Jerod Mayo, Tedy Bruschi, Tom Brady, Rob Gronkowski, Julian Edelman and many others!
 All proceeds from the event benefit Boston Medical Center (BMC). In 2017 the Mayo Bowl Hosted by James White raised over $400,000.00 and over the past eight (8) years has raised over $2.3 Million!

Fourth Annual CCAP Chip for Charity 9 Hole Golf Tournament and Million Dollar Hole-in-One Contest @ Harbor Lights

Comprehensive Community Action is one of the largest nonprofit community action program in RI providing accessible, quality and innovative health and human services that is responsive to the needs of families in our community.

As a non-profit community action program we need to raise funds to assist families we serve. A large number of families we serve have lost their jobs, suffered an illness, or a different type of crisis…usually through no fault of their own. Last year we touched the lives of more than 37,000 people and provided over $1.2 million in uncompensated services.

To help assist families in need, Comprehensive Community Action Program will be hosting the Fourth CCAP Chip for Charity 9 Hole Golf Tournament and Million Dollar Hole-in-One Contest Thursday, September 13 at Harbor Lights. This year’s event will kick-off with a morning and afternoon round of golf along with the CCAP Million Dollar Hole-in-One Reception along beautiful Greenwich Bay.

This will be the largest fundraiser we host during the year to benefit our programs and services and we hope that you will join us. To register or for more information, please contact Lee Beliveau at 401-562-8353 or lbeliveau@comcap.org.
