From swimwear, work wear and evening wear by Camille Jeanay to rainwear by Cleverhood, StyleWeek Northeast's Wednesday night show had us prepared for any weather situation–including threatening late summer hurricanes.

Safari Ablaze by Camille Jeanay

Jeanay's "Safari Ablaze" collection wowed with bikinis and one-piece maillots with interesting cutouts that accentuate the female body's most flattering attributes. I loved the sheer and lace cover-ups that showcase feminine curves and intricate swimsuit patterns that are meant to be seen. Jeanay's show transitioned to some work wear separates that would make for fashionable office life. A white blazer was paired with sequined black leggings, and a pink suit featured shorts and a cropped halter top for a vintage vibe. The crescendo of the evening was a series of cocktail and evening dresses that I could see myself in–literally, because the dresses consisted of real pieces of mirror and reflective sequins. Camille Jeanay is one to watch for her innovative creations and spectacular craftsmanship.

Cleverhood

Next up was Providence-based Cleverhood, an outerwear company that specializes in rain gear. Using fun fabrics, textures and colors from plaid to camouflage to Cookie Monster blue, Cleverhood appeals to everyone from weather-resistant sports fans and bicyclists to die-hard shoppers. Some of the coziest versions resembled fashionable snuggies, and they made me want to curl up in them by a campfire on a chilly fall night. The show took a fun and fancy-free approach by featuring models wearing nothing but the ponchos; one model walked out bare-legged and shoeless leaving audience members guessing–is she naked under there?–then she went as far as to take off her bikini bottom mid-runway and swing it seductively around her finger. The fashion show also starred a special Scottish terrier named Lincoln who enjoyed the attention from the crowd and also took a ride in a bicycle basket. All eyes were on him, but his presence helped to highlight just how much fun Cleverhood can be.
