See Boats Illuminate Newport Harbor

Feast your eyes on the twenty-first annual Newport Harbor Illuminated Boat Parade.

As the taste of Thanksgiving dinner leaves your plate (and stomach), sail into the holly jolly holiday season with Newport Harbor’s Illuminated Boat Parade. On November 23 at 6:15 p.m., Rhode Islanders can make their way over to the waterfront for a dazzling display of nautical holiday lights from Newport Yacht Club, Perrotti Park, Bowen’s Wharf, Bannister’s Wharf and other various points around Newport Harbor.

These magnificently decorated vessels will be competing for the prize of best decorated sailboat, powerboat, fishing boat, porch or dock. But the night is about more than just the boats. While the event is free to attend, parade organizers ask participants and spectators to support their community this holiday season by bringing a non-perishable food item to donate to the Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center.

Any organization, business or boat owner can register to participate in the parade until noon on Nov. 23 by contacting Harbormaster Tim Mill at 401-845-5815.
