PPAC Annual Gala
Providence Performing Art Center’s Annual Gala took place on November 1, featuring legendary queen of country Dolly Parton. More than 500 people attended the post-show event, raising more than $200,000 for the theatre’s ongoing restoration efforts.

Kristallnacht Concert 

Kristallnacht Concert
A sold-out crowd attended “Shining through Broken Glass” on November 9 at the Veterans Memorial Auditorium to commemorate the 70th anniversary of Kristallnacht and celebrate 1,000 years of Jewish music and culture. The concert was narrated by internationally acclaimed actor and director Leonard Nimoy.

Pinelli-Marra Honored by PWCVB

Pinelli-Marra Honored by PWCVB
Bill Pinelli and Steve Marra, co-owners of Pinelli Marra Restaurant Group, were presented with the Member of the Year Award at the Providence-Warwick Convention & Visitors Bureau’s annual meeting on October 30. Both were praised for their support of the PWCVB and their outstanding philanthropic efforts throughout Rhode Island.

National Philanthropy Day

National Philanthropy Day
On November 25, nearly 600 individuals from local businesses, foundations and other nonprofit organizations gathered at National Philanthropy Day 2008, where 100 Philanthropy Partners and four statewide organizations were honored for their support of Rhode Island nonprofit organizations.

Savory Grape Fall Wine Festival 

Savory Grape
Fall Wine Festival The 2nd Annual Savory Grape Fall Wine Festival took place on November 15, showcasing numerous American and European vineyards along with some of Rhode Island’s own vineyards. Many local businesses donated to the festival’s auction, which raised more than $9,000 for the Rhode Island Community Action Association.
