United Way Dedication

On June 21, United Way of Rhode Island celebrated its new location at Calender Mills on Valley Street and the announcement of a special $500,000 fund to support activities in the area. The five-hour block party featured food from local restaurants, live music and activities
for the kids.

Westerly Adult Day ServicesWesterly Adult Day Services “Sail into Summer” Fundraiser

Westerly Adult Day Services’ second annual fundraiser, held June 14, tripled last year’s money raised in excess of $12,000. Participants were treated to great seafood, sponsored by The Cooked Goose of Westerly, parties and trips on the M/V Setag and SeaLark and dancing under the tent.

Citizens Bank Foundation GrantThe Citizens Bank Foundation Grants $2,500 to Accessible Rhode Island

The Citizens Bank Foundation recently granted $2,500 to Accessible Rhode Island for its 2008 guide. The Accessible Rhode Island Guide, published by Rhode Island Monthly Communications, provides reliable information regarding recreational and cultural sites throughout the state to people with disabilities, their family members, friends and service providers.
