Post and Grove Is Taking Fashion Mobile

The truck has been making appearances at events around Providence.

 

Foo trucks are a big part of events in Providence, but how about mobile fashion?

Missie Yachimski has been taking style to the streets with her venture, Post and Grove, a fashion truck from which she sells “a little bit of everything”: men’s and women’s clothing, accessories, vintage and new. It’s named for the street she grew up on and the street where she now lives in Warwick. 

“It’s my past, what I’ve always wanted to do and now pulling it all together,” she says.

Yachimski works in finance in Boston, but has always loved clothes. “I would see things and think, oh, I wish this was in my size,” she says. 

She thought about opening a bricks and mortar store, but was concerned about the investment if the location wasn’t right. Then on a trip to California, she saw a mobile fashion truck and loved the idea. 

She went online and found a former laundry truck in Worcester. Her silent partner works in construction and they gutted the truck and designed the whole thing. The inside is welcoming, with subdued lighting, crown molding and wood floors. Featured brands include Levi’s, vintage and new, True Religion, Red Wing boots, Lilly Pulitzer, J. Brand, Rag and Bone, Diesel and Ralph Lauren.

Yachimski got her peddler’s license and says she’s kind of riding the coattails of the food trucks in terms of the regulations of where she can and can’t sell. Because of recent changes in the regulations, the trucks are now allowed to park at meters, as long as they keep feeding them, she says.

Since launching in August, Post and Grove has made the rounds at events, including the Columbus Day Festival on Federal Hill, Narragansett Neighbor Days, a pool party at the Providence Marriott, and a wedding at the Dean.
