On the Red Carpet at the Oscar Night America Party

Local personalities donned their finest fashions to celebrate Rhode Island's Oscars connections.

Rhode Islanders experienced what it feels like to be blitzed by paparazzi on the Red Carpet at the Oscar Night America party last Sunday night at The Vets in Providence. It was one of only forty-nine Academy Awards sanctioned parties in the country.

Oscar Night America is a part of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and it gives opportunity to non-profit groups and charities to put on galas and glamorous parties, to raise funds. Local personalities from ABC 6 and WPRO, friends of Viola Davis, honorees, and representatives from the Rhode Island Film and Television office graced the catwalk–we mean the Red Carpet–to show off their finest looks.

Rhode Island has many statewide connections to the 2012 Academy Awards, and you can read more about them here. See some shots from the Red Carpet below.
