A FEZ-tival of trees, shopping strolls on Block Island, the Nutcracker at Rosecliff and more fun things to do.
1. Island Moving Company’s The Nutcracker
Be a part of the classic holiday story, The Nutcracker, as you follow performers through Newport’s Rosecliff Mansion. Set within the salons and ballroom of the grandiose “house,” Rosecliff serves as the stunning backdrop throughout the recital. The one-of-a-kind ballet lets you go from room to room trailing the action, creating an interactive and engrossing performance that will leave you breathless.

2. FEZ-tival of Trees
Get into the spirit of giving with Shriners as they host their annual FEZ-tival of Trees. Spectacularly decorated trees donated by local businesses and groups will be available to the public to win in a raffle (what’s better than a pre-decorated tree? No more arguing about who gets to put the star on top). On Friday there will be a tree preview party and on Saturday, get a head start on holiday shopping at the craft and vendor fair while the kids visit with Santa and enjoy games in the activity area. Choir and dance performances will entertain and there will also be refreshments available.

3. Christmas at Blithewold
See Blithewold Mansion don its finest holiday garb as it hosts afternoon teas, musical performances and creative workshops for children and adults throughout the season. This year’s theme celebrates the exuberant and effervescent spirit of the roaring ’20s, and each room will dazzle you with its display of elaborate holiday decorations. Before you leave, make sure to check out the glimmering winter wonderland in the gardens.

4. Christmas Shopping Stroll on Block Island
Turn your Black Friday into a Block Friday and get the best Block Island bargains at the twenty-eighth annual Christmas Shopping Stroll. Browse holiday sales on Water and Dodge streets and treat yourself to cider and hot chocolate. The weekend-long event will also give you an opportunity to enter for a chance to win raffle prizes. Looking for more exercise than just a stroll? Enter the Turkey Trot five-k happening on Nov. 25.

5. Lady Project Winter Marketplace and Holiday Guide Celebration
The Lady Project is bringing the national campaign #WomenOwnedWednesday to Providence, complete with a marketplace and a holiday guide celebration. The event is open to the public and will have more than fifteen local women-owned businesses to shop from. Visitors can also enjoy drinks from New Harvest Coffee and Spirits, sampling by local lady-owned caterers, a mini massage, a photo booth and more. This year, the Lady Project will be collect winter outerwear donations to go to the Buy Nothing Day Coat Drive.
