1. Fantastic Mr. Fox Party


Join the Jane Pickens Theater and Event Center to follow the story of the broken promise Mr. Fox made to his wife and the madness of this adventure-like story as he raids the farms of their human neighbors, Bunce, Bean and Boggis.  This eighty-seven-minute film showcases the action and wit of Mr. Fox and the retaliation both he and his furry friends must face. Grab buttered popcorn, a soda to slurp on and a seat in Newport’s world-class art house cinema and enjoy the show.

 2. An American in Paris

Bonjour! An American in Paris, a Tony Award-winning musical, is a romance driven Broadway hit that is sure to make your heart burst. We won’t give too much away, but an undeniable romance between an American soldier and a French girl search for love in the streets in none other than Paris, the city of love. Enjoy musical numbers composed by George and Ira Gershwin and follow this love story through the performance at Providence Performing Arts Center.

3. New England Saltwater Fishing Show

Presented by the Rhode Island Saltwater Anglers Association, the New England Saltwater Fishing Show is the largest saltwater fishing show in the Northeast. The event features free seminars on topics such as saltwater kayak fishing, strategies for catching big stripers in stormy weather, basic fly-fishing for beginners and much more. The show will also host speakers such as Captain Brian Bacon and Captain Jim Barr and attendees can enter to win a free fishing trip with Captain Charlie Donilon.  4. Newport Restaurant Week

Savor the flavors of Newport Restaurant Week from more than fifty of the finest restaurants in Newport and Bristol counties. The week hosts three-course prix-fixe lunch and dinner options, culinary walking tours, chef demos, special events, late night eats and much more. Participating restaurants include DeWolf Tavern, Jo’s American Bistro, Midtown Oyster Bar, and Scarpetta to name a few.

5. Up Close on Hope


Festival Ballet Providence’s fortieth anniversary season continues with the presentation of the second installment, Up Close On Hope, the popular Black Box Theater series. The mixed program made for an intimate evening will feature the return of Gianni Di Marco’s Lady of the Camellias, a one-act adaptation of the tragic Alexandre Dumas story. The program will also feature an excerpt from the Stravinsky ballet Le Sacre du Printemps and an exciting new work by choreographer Kurt Douglas. Prepare to be in awe of the timeless and thrilling performance.
