Pecha Kucha Providence. Monthly format for sharing ideas through slide presentations. This month’s theme is “What if?” Free. Doors open at 7:20 p.m. The Spot Underground, 101 Richmond St., second floor, Providence.

Clambake. A regular gathering to highlight Rhode Island designers. This month’s featured speakers are Ron Henderson of L+A Landscape Design and furniture makers Jonathan Glatt and Sara Ossana of O&G Studio. Free, but RSVP requested. 5:30-8:30 p.m. Aurora, 276 Westminster St., Providence.

Summer Soiree and Opening of “PAPER-MADE” exhibit. Showcases the creations of eighteen artists working with paper from Rhode Island to Japan. Workshop called “Embellishments and Ornaments in Paper” with artist Rebecca Siemering. Preview party from 5-6 p.m. Event from 6 to 9 p.m., featuring acoustic guitar by Canyon and refreshments by Matunuck Oyster Bar, Mad Hatter Bakery and others. Providence Flea. The popular flea market returns to the Providence River Greenway, featuring vendors selling artwork, fashion, crafts and furniture, food trucks and live music. Free. 10 a.m.- 4 p.m. 345 South Water St., Providence, providenceflea.com.

The "Grey Lady" Comes to Castle Hill Inn. The hotel will host the pop-up boutique in an Airstream for Journelle, an intimates boutique. The latest in lingerie and swimwear for summer will be on sale, and the event will also feature brunch ahd a cocktail reception. 11 a.m.-2 p.m. RSVP at rsvp@castlehillinn.com.

ONGOING:

“Graphic Design: Now in Production.” The traveling exhibit features some of the best in graphic design since 2000 from magazines, newspapers, posters and books into digital media and film. Runs through August 10. Chace Center Galleries, RISD Museum, 20 North Main St., Providence, risdmuseum.org.

"No Rules: The Personal Style of Doris Duke." The heiress and philanthropist appreciated art and design and collected items from her travels around the world, ranging from tailors in Siam to dressmakers in Paris. NOTABLES:

Warren-based furniture maker O&G Studio was recently selected to design a chair for Tommy Hilfiger flagship stores in Europe and Asia.

The Dean Hotel was recently featured on popular design blog, Design*Sponge.

Designer consignment store Goddess Closet RI is moving from its Greenville location to open for business at the Arcade in Providence on July 1.

Tess and Carlos, an upscale boutique that began in Cambridge, recently opened a shop in Tiverton Four Corners. For more information, go here.

URI Assistant Professor Sheng Lu collaborated with the United States Fashion Industry Association to publish a United States Fashion Industry Benchmarking Study. Executives from more than twenty-four executives at companies based in the United States were asked about sourcing, business practices and use of free trade agreements, etc.   

Rhode Island Kitchen and Bath recently won two National Kitchen and Bath Awards for kitchen design. The Warwick-based company received a Judge’s Choice Award for Best in Show for its transformation of an outdated kitchen and a second place award for the redesign of a kitchen in a home that dates back to 1900.
