Learn more about mindfulness and see if the time is right for you to incorporate this health promoting practice into your life.
In this 2-hour workshop, I will introduce you to mindfulness: what it is and how powerful it can be. We will explore the health claims and supporting medical research. I will teach you a basic meditation practice and give you a link for you to download it. In this workshop, you will also learn about the Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, MBSR, course.
The workshop is free; although donations are always welcome, and it is a required prerequisite for the eight-week MBSR course beginning on September 18. (28 CE credits available NASW)
MBSR, was founded at the University of Massachusetts Medical School’s Center for Mindfulness and is recognized world-wide as the gold standard in medical mindfulness. Ginny Wholley is has been practicing and teaching meditation for more than twenty years and is a qualified and authorized instructor of MBSR.
