Grab your buns, grab your hamburger meat, grab all your favorite ingredients, and get to work, folks – Luxe Burger Bar’s Build Your Own Burger Contest is back for the eighth year in a row.

From July 9 through September 5, anyone and everyone who thinks they have what it takes to win can submit an entry either in the restaurant or online. Contestants are asked to submit their recipe that can contain any of the forty-five ingredients always available at Luxe, plus two secret ingredients of their own choosing.

The top five contestants will be chosen shortly after the contest ends and their burgers will be featured on the Luxe menu from September 14 to October 19. The final showdown will occur on October 20 when a panel of culinary and celebrity judges will determine the best of the best after evaluating creativity, taste, edibility, ease of production, overall competition and, of course, the burger’s name.

The winner will then receive $1,000 in cash and prizes and their burger will be featured on the Luxe menu for one year.

Last year, two winners were chosen after a tie, Brad Connelly and Victoria Picinich. Connelly’s “The G.O.A.T” Burger consisted of Luxe’s classic Gold Label Hereford beef topped with creamy goat cheese, iceberg lettuce, caramelized onions, ripe tomatoes, bacon jam, five onion rings and wasabi mayo. Picinich’s “The Figgy Piggy Burger” was topped with sharp provolone, crispy prosciutto, roasted peppers and fig jam.

What seems to be the best lesson learned from past winners? No idea is too crazy to try, just make sure you have the best name to match the best burger. Learn more about the contest here.
