Couture in the City (by the Sea)

Newport’s always been known as one of the state’s major shopping destinations, but as of June, the city got a major dose of fashion cred. Badgley Mischka, the label known best for jaw-droppingly gorgeous ethereal evening gowns, just opened a boutique on Bellevue Avenue. The store — currently one of only three in the country; the others are in L.A. and Palm Beach — carries the all three of the label’s lines: Couture, Collection and Mark+James. There will also be handbags, jewelry, fragrance, swimwear and eyewear to shop.

Badgley Mischka has long been a red carpet favorite, loved by the likes of Eva Longoria, Jessica Alba and the Olsens, so this latest addition to the Newport shopping scene is truly huge. I doubt my wallet can spare enough to afford me my own BM design, but I will definitely be making the trek to Newport soon to ogle the racks and dream.
