They’ll also detail just the inside or outside for $70. Outside Newport/Middletown, Blue Wave will pick up your car for an additional charge, depending on where you are. There’s a surcharge for dog hair removal, too, but you may score a free loaner car in the deal.

Fantastic Finishes offers full-service, interior/exterior car detailing for $150 to $185, depending on the size of your vehicle and scope of service. They also detail boats. The company will pick up your car from your home or office and have it back to you before the end of the workday. Pickup is included in the price. Owner Eddie Demazio’s been detailing every kind of vehicle for the past twenty years, including Porsches, Rolls Royces and Aston Martins. “I love cars,” he says. “I’ve detailed every car you can imagine. I never advertise. Ninety percent of my business is word of mouth.”

Plus they do last-minute calls. Never heard of a cleaning emergency, you say? Try this one: Someone was getting new carpet installed, and ripped up their old broadloom only to find a mess of mildew and mold on their concrete floor. It had to be zapped before the new carpet could go down. After Hours zoomed over in a flash and washed the whole floor. For regular cleaning chores, there’s a two-hour minimum and a charge of $25 and up, which includes two cleaners. Ask for a free estimate. The company cleans anywhere in Rhode Island and southeastern Massachusetts.

The Maids will send a clean team over as often as you need them: daily, weekly, biweekly, monthly. The company offers something they call their “22-Step Healthy Touch Deep Cleaning System,” a scrubfest that’ll leave your entire house so clean, you’ll think you’re in the wrong one. They even hand wash your floors and change your linens. Their first visit comprises a comprehensive cleaning billed at $140 per hour (ten rooms typically require about two hours to finish). After that, you’ll get a set rate per visit. For example, a ten-room home cleaned every other week by a team of three or four maids costs about $130. They even bring their own cleaning supplies and will travel to homes anywhere in Rhode Island.

These folks will come to your place as often as you want. And for some of us, that can’t be often enough. Owner Tony Leonardo says, “We send the same person each time, so you don’t have strangers coming into and out of your house.” The company charges by the room; an average three-bedroom, one-bath, one-kitchen, one-living room home runs about $60 for the whole shebang on a weekly basis. All polishing and dusting is done by hand, and hardwood floors are cleaned with a two-step system, including a special wood-care product. They’ll also clean your carpets. The company also offers a “Clutter Control Service.” “Some people have too much stuff in their homes to move,” said Leonardo. “We’ll organize that for them.”
