April’s Can’t-Miss Events in Rhode Island

This month: Try pinot and Pilates, hunt for eggs at the Audubon and get daffy in Newport.

Newport Daffodil Days

Why: Let’s get daffy! This week-long celebration in the City by the Sea welcomes spring with more than one million daffodils, time to bask in the sun and plenty of fun activities for the whole family. Take a walk and see the gorgeous plants during the Daffodil Stroll or don your pooch in daffodil-inspired garb for the Daffy Doggies Parade. Plus, see classic cars bedecked with daffy decor on Bellevue Avenue or enjoy live music, a cash bar and a performance among the flowers from Rhode Island’s Ballet Theatre.
Where: Various venues in Newport.

4/13 Easter Egg Hunt

Why: This isn’t your typical Easter egg hunt. Kiddos ages three through ten have the chance to search for camouflaged eggs hidden against natural wooded brush. Prizes will be awarded to all children, though grand prizes are awarded to winners who also scoop up the golden eggs. Each child must bring their own basket for what will surely be an eggscellent time!
Where: Audubon locations in Bristol, Exeter, Smithfield and Seekonk, Mass.

4/4 Pinot and Pilates

Why: Think you have what it takes for a session of Pilates? Hint: It’s not all deep breaths and stretches. (A glass of wine sure could help, though!) Join Newport Vineyards and Studio 47 Pilates for an hour-long mat Pilates class followed by a wine tasting in the vineyard’s tasting room. This is a bring-your-own-mat event.
Where: Newport Vineyards, 909 East Main Rd., Middletown.
