A Dress and a Date
This weather! So gorgeous! Two things to do:
1. If you’ve been clearing clothes out of your closet to make room for summer stuff, you’ve probably spotted at least one work suit, dress or skirt that you love but that doesn’t quite fit right. Give it away! We wrote about Peggy Porter Quinlan and her daughter, Melissa, in our May issue — the mother and daughter duo just launched a Rhode Island branch of “Dress for Success,” which provides professional attire and career development tools to disadvantaged women in Rhode Island. They need your good-condition office wear, and you need less stuff in your life to remind you of work. 🙂
2. Wear one of the summer dresses you can now fit into your closet to: the Dress for Success Rhode Island dinner dance fundraiser at Quidnessett Country Club in North Kingstown on Thursday, June 10 from 6-10. Tickets are $55, and the entertainment consists of special guest Ken Bell (from ABC6 news), a raffle and silent aucition, live music, and you happily dancing.
You can find more info here, along with a partial list of auction items: a Block Island getaway, an overnight at the Crowne Plaza, gift certificates, Trinity and Festival ballet tickets, luggage, golf at Quidnessett, a bathtub makeover, jewelry. All good! You can also call 339-3143 for tickets.
Enjoy the sunshine.
