Dating back more than 130 years in Newport, the polo matches are one of Newport’s grandest & most popular traditions, a living legacy from the Gilded Age, and open to the public. Season subscriptions to the Newport International Polo Series are available for individual lawn or Pavilion seating, reserved tables, corporate tailgates and VIP lounge tables to take in all eighteen weeks of polo action.

This is the 27 season of Newport International Polo Series, which has hosted teams from over 30 nations including, Ireland, Germany, Spain, England, Argentina, France, Egypt, India, Australia, Costa Rica, Ghana, Canada, Chile, Jamaica, Nigeria, Portugal, New Zealand, Barbados, Scotland, South Africa, Hungary, Dominican Republic, Netherlands, Kenya, Brazil, China, Italy, Mexico, Sweden, Singapore, Monaco, Morocco and Peru.

Minutes from downtown Newport, the International Polo Grounds are located at historic Glen Farm, 250 Linden Lane in Portsmouth. This bucolic setting is the last 100 acres of what was once a 700-acre manorial farm whose settlement dates back to the 1600’s. Its classical stone barns from the Gilded Age and its park-like grounds were rehabilitated by polo series founder, Dan Keating, and thrive today as an equestrian & community recreational property, and home of the Polo Series.

2018 All Charity Day Benefit Match @ Newport Polo

The Newport International Polo Series third annual All Charity Day will be on Sunday, July 15  as a fun afternoon fundraising opportunity for 501-c-3 organizations, with fast-paced polo action to benefit local charitable and civic organizations.

The classic six-chukker match will begin at 5 p.m., featuring local teams competing. Entry gates will open at 4 p.m. The event is open to the public and all are welcome to attend. Admission tickets will only be available in advance from the participating organizations listed below (follow a link to support your favorite; new participants and links will be added regularly); 100 percent of ticket sales support these worthy civic and charitable organizations for the welfare of our community. Admission tickets will not be available for purchase at the entry gates on game day.

In its second year, the 2017 All Charity Day drew over 2,000 spectators, raising $22,000 for the twenty-two participating organizations. The beautiful, sunny July day included festive parties hosted by the organizations, fabulous raffle and silent auction prizes, and a victory for Newport Women over Newport Men after a high-scoring match.

Organizations are invited to plan a day at polo for their supporters, hosted by Newport Polo at the International Polo Grounds. Opportunities to participate are open to qualified 501-3c organizations. For more information, please email agnes@nptpolo.com.

Through its twenty-six year history, Newport Polo has raised over $1,366,880 for civic and charitable organizations. Initiatives include the International Polo Charity Ball, special benefit matches and countless ticket donations for the Newport International Polo Series.
