Syrian Refugees in RI and Pizza Praise

Rhode Island Monthly readers weigh in.

“They’ve All Come to Look for America,” October

I am a subscriber and would like to say the article on the Syrian refugees was fantastic. It was very well written and got to the heart of what refugees go through.

I think it would help people see refugees in a different way, to learn how hard it is for them.

It’s one of the best articles I have seen in a while. Great job.

Allow me to thank you for the superb and moving article, “They’ve All Come to Look for America.”

As a Syrian American who spent half his life in Syria and who immigrated to the United States in 1984, I was moved by it. You humanized and gave a voice to these destitute people at a time when the political winds both here and in Europe have taken a sad turn.

Following a twenty-five-year career with the United Nations, my wife and I settled in Portsmouth, Rhode Island, some seven years ago, and continue to thank our lucky stars for landing here.

“The Ultimate Guide to Pizza,” November

What an amazing surprise to see such a well-written, beautiful article on Gilded Tomato; it represented our farm so nicely! We are delighted beyond words.

And what wonderful pizza colleagues we have here in Rhode Island. We loved reading about what makes everyone unique and passionate about their businesses.

Being part of this stellar group here in Rhode Island is an honor unto itself.
