'Gansett's Tall Boy is Missing
The iconic mascot costume was stolen last weekend in Providence, and the brewery is asking your help in bringing him home.
This Halloween, look out for anyone rocking a Narragansett Tall Boy costume. It may be stolen goods. The $3,000 custom-made costume was swiped last Saturday at Narragansett brewery's Neighbor Day block party held outside The Avery in Providence's Luongo Square.
The block party was huge success with visitors from all over coming to Providence for a day of beer and local bands, but when staffers were cleaning up, they realized Tall Boy was gone.
No one has seen the beloved suit since, but it's hard to believe someone wouldn't be bragging about scoring the iconic getup. Chief Executive Officer Mark Hellendrung has put out a public service announcement on YouTube asking for help with any information on the disappearance.
From the YouTube page: "The Tall Boy suit was stolen while we were cleaning up after the Neighbor Day Block Party on Saturday in Luongo Square of Providence. This is no joke. It may sound funny and yes Tall Boy can be comical, but this suit was really stolen from us. It is our property and expensive to make. He adds some life to all of our events and we want it back. We are offering a reward to anyone with information that leads to a safe return. If you've seen it or know anyone who has, please let us know. This isn't just a case of beer. Whoever took it will be bragging to their friends and posting photos online. Could be in a college dorm or your neighbor's house and anywhere from Boston to Westerly. Folks came from all over to the party. Not to mention Halloween is right around the corner. Please keep your eyes peeled and hit us up on Facebook, twitter, email (email@example.com), or phone (401-437-8970) if you know of anything. And help us out by spreading the word. Together we will find it and bring Tall Boy home so we can all enjoy his smile at future events."
