A Victorian Dinner Party at Historic Hearthside House
October 7 @ 6:30 pm - 9:30 pm$125.00
Held in the warmth and charm of Lincoln’s 1810 Hearthside House Museum, this unique and memorable dinner party is served in the elegant candlelight ambience of the mansion’s music room where 22 guests will enjoy their meal together with a menu selected from historic cookbooks. Adding to the exceptional dining experience will be briefings between each course as the guest chef provides the history of each dish and how it was prepared, along with the wine pairings.
An exhibit will be on display about the Chase Family, who owned the historic Chase Farm next door to Hearthside and is now the site of many of Hearthside’s activities. The dinner party portrays a celebration given by the Talbot family who lived at Hearthside upon the return of Benjamin and Gladys Chase from their 1921 honeymoon aboard the luxury White Star Line, Megantic.
The sumptuous meal will be prepared from local farm fresh foods by guest lead chef Bruce Tillinghast, house chef John Scanlon, and dessert by retired Chief Justice Frank J. Williams. The five-course menu features Chateaubriand with Madeira Sauce carved table side.
Hearthside’s Victorian Dinner Party series is an annual fundraising event that has been designed to give guests the essence of local history enjoyed through a delightful treat to the palate while raising much-needed funds for the preservation of this historic jewel. The museum is run entirely by volunteers and has recently been selected by Yankee Magazine as “Best Historical Experience” in Rhode Island in its 2017 Editor’s Choice Awards.
Reservations may be made by contacting Hearthside at firstname.lastname@example.org or calling 401-726-0597. Hearthside is located at 677 Great Road, Lincoln, RI.
