Details on One Providence New Year’s Eve
Experience the city's first digital ball drop followed by fireworks at midnight.
New Year’s Eve can be an expensive night out, but it doesn’t have to be. Providence is throwing One Providence New Year’s Eve and the outdoor events are free and open to the public. The night includes a laser light show, the first digital ball drop in Providence at midnight and a fireworks display following the ball drop.
The Pepsi-sponsored event will take place outdoors in Waterplace Park and include live music, food trucks (food for purchase) and warming tents ($10 ticket, ages twelve and younger are free). Financial Way will be closed to traffic so visitors can wander around freely and visit outdoor tents equipped with food vendors, NYE swag, bars and hot chocolate stations. Barbi Jo DiMaria from 92 PRO FM and Bekah Berger from Hot 106 will be hosting the outdoor festivities, and Mayor Jorge Elorza will lead the countdown to midnight.
The laser light shows begin at 7 p.m. in Waterplace Park and on the Superman building. Ice Bumper Cars and Ice Skating at the rink will run until midnight and are a short walk from the basin. Be sure to make reservations in advance for the ice bumper cars, as they sell out quickly. Call 401-331-5544 for reservations for the bumper cars.
The One Providence party at Skyline is sold out but the outdoor events are free and open to the public. Check out our list of 15 Ways to Spend New Year’s Eve in Rhode Island.
