Description

Rhode Island ACLU's 50th Anniversary Dinner Celebration

Please join the American Civil Liberties Union of Rhode Island in celebrating our 50th Anniversary with a special dinner in the Narragansett Ballroom of the Westin Providence at 7:00 pm on November 6th.  Our keynote speaker will be Susan Herman, President of the National ACLU.  Cocktails will be from 6:30 pm to 7:00 pm.

Despite being from the smallest state in the union, the Rhode Island ACLU has one of the most active legal dockets in the country. Our cooperating attorneys have handled more than 600 lawsuits in that time period, with great success and often against great odds.

We will be honoring the RI ACLU's entire corp of cooperating attorneys as our

“Raymond J. Pettine Civil Libertarians of the Year”

Accepting this award on behalf of the entire Corps will be two representatives from each of the Affiliate’s five decades:

1959–1969       Milton Stanzler & Richard Zacks
1969–1979       Stephen Fortunato, Jr. & Amato DeLuca
1979–1989       Lynette Labinger & Amy Tabor
1989–1999       John Dineen & Sandra Lanni
1999–2009       Howard Merten & Thomas Lyons

Join us before the dinner for a Private Cocktail Reception with our Keynote Speaker & Award Recipients in the South County Room from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm.  VIP tickets are available for $200.

Cost $100
