| Description |
Providence Children’s Museum will hold its 29th Allen H. Chatterton Jr. Memorial Golf Tournament on Monday, August 6 at the world-famous Carnegie Abbey Club in Portsmouth, RI. Participants can take a turn on the acclaimed Scottish-style links course, play in a tennis round robin, delight in spa treatments, and enjoy cocktails and dinner at the waterfront Clubhouse.
Golf packages begin at $300 for individual golfers and $1,500 for foursomes and include 18 holes of golf, greens fees, cart, caddie, lunch, dinner and on-course beverages. Tennis registration is $150 and includes a round robin and dinner. Dinner-only tickets are available for $75 per person.
Golf registration begins at 11:00 AM with a shotgun start at 12:30 PM and prizes will be awarded for skill contests such as longest drive as well as for a betting hole – including the chance to win a luxury car for a hole-in-one. The tennis round robin starts at 3:00 PM, cocktails and dinner begin at 5:30 PM, and the evening includes a live auction featuring rounds of golf at exclusive courses.
Proceeds support Rhode Island’s only museum especially for children and their families – a hands-on environment that inspires and celebrates learning through active play and exploration – and enable the Museum to serve a growing number of children and caregivers of all economic, ethnic and cultural backgrounds.
Businesses and individuals are invited to become tournament sponsors or to donate auction items. For registration and information about sponsorship and tee signs, visit www.childrenmuseum.org/Golf.asp or contact Sara Clarke at (401) 273-5437 ext. 121 or Clarke@ChildrenMuseum.org.
