Peter T Pastore Foundation Charity Dinner (Guest Speaker Gina Raimondo-RI General Treasurer!!!)

Dear Friends,

Most of you remember Peter T. Pastore, Jr. as a dedicated public servant, Cranston City Councilman for many years, and a good friend.  Peter had a tremendous impact on his community and believed in helping people achieve their goals and dreams.  Peter was committed to his family, friends and his role as a Councilman and banker.  

At the time of Peter’s passing in 2006, he was the Executive Vice President/Chief Operating Officer at Randolph Savings Bank.   Even in his work at the Bank, Peter personified the ideal of giving back to the community.  Shortly after his passing, members of the Randolph Savings Bank family decided they wanted to do something to not only honor Peter’s memory, but also to keep his spirit for giving back to his community alive.  Their answer was to create The Randolph Savings Peter T. Pastore, Jr. Charitable Foundation.

Since its inception, the Foundation has donated more than $80,000 to local non-profit organizations in RI and MA.  These are just some of the organizations the Foundation has assisted:

• Special Olympics RI-   Big Brothers RI

• J Arthur Trudeau Center-   Cranston YMCA

• McAuley Ministries-   Stoughton Youth Resources

• Community Against Bullying in Schools-   Caritas, Inc.

• Bishop Hendricken High School-   CLCF Sports

• Peter T. Pastore, Jr. Youth Center-   Randolph Community Partnership

• Junior Achievement of RI-   Extraordinary Child

• RI Autism Project and Anti Bullying

The organizations listed above, and others like them, benefit from the generous support of all our friends and neighbors throughout the Rhode Island and Massachusetts community.  I thank all of you for your generous support, both financially and with your time and talent.

I’m honored to announce the Foundation will be hosting a fundraising event the evening of Thursday Night May 31, 2012 at the Alpine Country Club in Cranston, RI.  I invite you to join me in supporting the Foundation and your community by attending this event.  I’m certain you will enjoy great food, good conversation and an opportunity to bid on some great silent auction items.  In addition, great cigars, wine, and live music!  Finally, Mayor Allan Fung and many local governor, mayors, and town officials will be in attendance.  Last year the Governor attended our event!  Full meal with pasta stations included in price of ticket!

I thank you for your help in keeping Peter’s spirit alive through the work of the Foundation and I look forward to seeing you on May 31st!
