On Thursday, May 17 La Salle Academy will hold its Sixth Annual Scholarship Dinner at the Biltmore Hotel in Providence honoring Felix (La Salle Class of 1974) and Lori Porcaro and La Salle Academy President Brother Michael Mc Kenery and raising funds for tuition assistance for students who otherwise could not afford to attend La Salle.
Perhaps more important that those that we are honoring is the fact that as of today, the event has raised more than $550,000.00 and is closing in on $600,000 -- certainly the largest single fund raising event in the history of Rhode Island Catholic schools and one of the largest fundraising event of any private high school in Rhode Island history.
Again, and most importantly, these funds will be used to assure that students who would otherwise be unable to attend La Salle will be able to do so. |
