"The Bag," painted by Shawn Kenney. The Museum Associates present a unique event each spring to benefit the Museum of Art, Rhode Island School of Design's education program. Please join us for “It’s in the Bag,” a gala celebrating the artistry of fine designer handbags. Jimmy Choo, Ferragamo, Carlos Falchi, Valentino, Tiffany and Co., Brooks Brothers, Tory Burch, Worth and Swarovski, plus RISD graduates Kenneth Jay Lane, Eric Javits, Nicole Miller and Andrea Valentini are just some of the designers and firms represented in the live and silent auctions. Artists are also creating one-of-a-kind works in various media, and original theme bags will cover the world of sports and other pleasurable pursuits. Look inside these bags for great gift certificates, author signed books, golf outings, exquisite getaways and other enticements. WPRI Chief Meteorologist Tony Petrarca will host the live and silent auctions and a special, "fulfill your fantasies" raffle. A special exhibition of the featured items will be on view in the RISD Museum during regular Museum hours from May 1 through May 5. “It’s in the Bag” promises to be this spring’s most stylish gala! |
