Design Awards
Stars! Presenting the stunning new houses, redos and anything-but-humdrum office spaces that captured our eighteenth-annual Design Awards.

Climate change? Mercury in retrograde? When our jury convened this past July, we couldn’t help but note the round-up seemed different. The level of talent was as high as ever. But who could have forecast such a variety of imaginative visions (everything from a petite, but oh so clever, Block Island rehab to a chic office with spirit-lifting furnishings). We counted a surprising number of new friends, too. And our old friends, well, they blew us away. One stormed in to take an astounding, record-setting fistful of prizes. Economy aside, our architects and designers are busy. Culling the trophy-takers was no piece of cake for our dedicated judges: architect Joe Pryse from Boston’s Elkus Manfredi Architects; Boston architect and Wentworth Institute of Technology assistant professor Rob Trumbour; and interior designer Shari Pellows, who heads an eponymous Sharon, Massachusetts, firm and participates in the Designer on Call program at the Boston Design Center. Our sincere thanks to them and to everyone — you know who you are — who threw their hat in our ring.
