It Takes the Cake
I was so excited to see the Sweet issue [“The Sweet Life,” October] arrive in my mailbox. I was hoping to see our new bakery, Patticakes, listed somewhere in the article. We opened in May of 2011 and offer an array of delicious homemade cupcakes and other treats daily. Many of our customers tell us that our cupcakes are the best in the state and we have even heard that our offerings are better than many cupcake shops in larger cities. We also create fabulous cakes of all varieties, from a life-size replica of a Fender guitar to elegant wedding cakes.

Success Story
Kudos to Rhode Island Monthly for highlighting one of our state’s economic success stories [Snapshot, September]: the enormous growth at the Port of Davisville, the eighth largest auto importer in all of North America and growing. This past August alone, more than 14,000 cars were imported through Davisville, a new monthly record.
The port, however, is only part of the success the Quonset Business Park has enjoyed over the past several years.
Today, Quonset is home to 8,800 jobs at 168 companies. These companies range in size from small businesses with one employee, to Toray with several hundred, to Electric Boat with more than 2,000. In fact, one of out every fifty jobs in Rhode Island today is at Quonset.
Thank you, Rhode Island Monthly, for noticing and celebrating the Rhode Island success story at Quonset.

Pedi and Party
Thank you for choosing Spa Voyage as Editors’ Pick for the “Best of Rhode Island” issue in your magazine [August]. My husband and I really enjoyed the party at PPAC. I so appreciate your helping my small business get recognized in such a wonderful magazine.

Strength in Small Business
I cannot begin to express our excitement at receiving best local condiment by Rhode Island Monthly [August]. We are just thrilled! Needless to say, we are promoting this honor to the world. These are challenging times for the world of print media and small businesses like ours, but we don’t give up and keep at it as we ride out the economic storm. Thank you so very much for your support and affirmation of Wicked Natural.
