A local mom finds a much-needed solution for kids.
Ditching mahogany dressers for colorful, labeled bins, former stay-at-home-mom Carolyn Dalgliesh helps kids with special needs stay organized. Her Systems for Sensory Kids teaches children with anxiety disorders, high-functioning autism, obsessive/compulsive disorder
and other sensory challenges how to find success with organizational techniques and positive visual aids.
It’s not just Dalgliesh’s home organization expertise (she also owns Simple Organization Strategies) that inspired her newest venture: Her own eight-year-old son’s neuropsychiatric disorder gave her years of trial-and-error experience she hopes to share with other families. “As an organized person, it was overwhelming for me at first to try to speak my son’s language,” Dalgliesh says. “I’m hoping to make it easier for other families.” Find more information at systemsforsensorykids.com. —SAMANTHA TURNER
