Hot Lunch

Chez Pascal takes lunch trucks to the next level

lunch truckPork makes for a mean sandwich, but Chez Pascal isn’t exactly a venue for meatloaf. 
So Chef Matt Gennuso dreamed up Hewtin’s Dogs Mobile, a spin-off of the restaurant’s popular hot dog cart, for another gourmet twist on down-home lunch fare made from the unused cuts of naturally raised (mostly local) meats from Chez Pascal’s kitchen. Now entering its second year, the truck 
draws year-round regulars for housemade sausages and sandwiches such as bacon-wrapped pork meatloaf. “We’ve had people drive over from Massachusetts,” says Valerie Laliberte (pictured). “It’s really fun.” Find Hewtin’s Dogs Mobile near the corner of Smith and North Main streets in Providence, Wed.–Fri., or at chezpascal.com.  — NICOLE MARANHAS
