![]() | Rather than let their brick-floored entry turn into a sea of shoes and backpacks, the sensible owners recruited Tom McGrath of McGrath Construction in Middletown to engineer a family-friendly storage unit with a bevy of components including drawers and cubbies. Designer Jocelyn Chiappone from Lou Lou’s Décor, Tiverton, and Portsmouth designer Jane Bogle outfitted the large built-in with playful metal bins, a custom message board (right) and a colorful rug—all nabbed from Lou Lou’s. Result? Parents and, more importantly, kids, actually like stowing their gear every day, photos get their due and invitations—not to mention appointments and schedules—are duly noted. Now, practical and infused with personality, this mudroom withstands all the comings and goings without ever looking less than perfect. |
