It's not every day that someone up and starts a nonprofit. And Drop In & Decorate is certainly one we can sink our sugar-loving teeth into. Founded by local food writer Lydia Walshin, the group's premise is simple: bake some cookies, gather friends to decorate them (the more frosting the better), and then donate them to a food pantry, women's shelter or other community organization. Sure, no one needs cookies, but everyone loves cookies, which is why we love the concept. What better way to show someone in need that you care (and they matter) than with a decadent, beauti-ful dose of sugar?
