Elliot Butcher's den of Southern ambrosia may be hidden in a set back lot on Broad Street, but his fried chicken and pulled pork are worth traveling across the state for. It's almost impossible to choose between starch (candied sweet potatoes, cornbread and mac and cheese) and protein (super light fried flounder and smothered chicken) but, luckily, all mains come with two sides. And be sure to leave room for dessert because Butcher's sweet potato mini-pies are the best we've ever had, including in the deep South.
