Available at Newport Specialty Foods and by calling 846-1388. We're not so arrogant as to ignore the culinary treasures that Europe has dropped at our doorstep. In this case, it's a subtle (but celestial) collection by one of our favorite pastry chefs, Laurent Vals. The Spiced Pear alum's handmade assortment features a domed raspberry and vanilla truffle, tart passion fruit covered both in dark chocolate and his signature gold leaf and the obsessively good banana and caramel. Never (never) have we bought a gift box and actually given it away. A box of six is $12.
