Helping Hands

Although I moved to Corpus Christi last fall, I continue to receive and enjoy Rhode Island Monthly. I was extremely pleased to see the story about Jan Martin and Dave Frerichs [“Picking for the Hungry,” June Current].

Jan and Dave helped my former agency, Corliss Institute, obtain the approval for our past farmers market, expand the startup market with beautiful produce and plow a large community garden plot on the agency grounds, which Jan tended religiously with the support of Corliss residents and staff. What wonderful people and what fantastic things they grow and nurture, including the veggies!

Missed Market

In the June issue, you referenced farmers markets all over Rhode Island [“The Local Food Lover’s Guide”]. Well, you inadvertently left out the North Scituate one. Here is the information:
North Scituate Farmers Market, Village Green/Scituate Art Festival Grounds, Rte. 116, Saturdays 9 a.m.–noon, May–Sept., 647-5547.

Pastoral Support

We would like to thank Rhode Island Monthly and its staff for your support of our goat cheese and goat milk soaps. So many times I will be reading your magazine and come across a photo, article or mention of our products. You can only imagine the happiness it brings our family. Your staff is top-notch with its clear photography, interesting stories and accuracy.

Happy Teeth

Congratulations to Pezza Orthodontics [“Top Dentists 2012,” July]. Dr. Joe and Dr. Greg are certainly the best in my family’s opinion. What a wonderful office. Thanks for my smile!

Star on the Rise

I was pleasantly surprised to see the Q-and-A with Joe Fletcher in the July issue [Current]. He is an incredible artist and live performer, and we are lucky to have him in Rhode Island.
Cheers to the magazine for catching him on the rise, because he will only gain more fans from here on out.
